Choreography Department and Sibiu Ballet Theater representatives met during November with fellow Norwegian creative partners, under the umbrella of Ro-Cultura. The Romanian delegates visited Oslo, headquarters of Panta Rei Dance Theatre (PRD) the dance company known for fast-paced, colourful dance theatre performances accessible to a wide range of audiences in a variety of theatrical and non-theatrical spaces. PRD has one of the most diverse audiences in Norway and in 2017 the company was nominated for Norwegian Audience Development Prize.
The bilateral initiative intent visit followed the need of the three parties to exchange information in order to establish a potential collaboration that aims to pre-define a project for the next program EEA Grants.
Beyond the meetings among partners, the representatives of ASC and TBS got accustomed to the local creative DNA, in order to gain a better knowledge of the artistic context.
Overall aims and desired outcomes of this visit were truly met: strengthening the creative collaboration and exchange of working experience between Romanian and Norwegian dance artists, a better understanding of the social and administrative context regarding the development of artistic/contemporary dance in Norway. At the same time, all parties investigated the possibilities and mechanism to create dance theatre co-productions and artistic products destined to link 2 different artistic DNAs and defined the next steps to undergo for the 2019-2020 project.
We are excited and waiting for the next steps of the program, in order to create the trilateral project.
Thank you, Ro-Cultura for making this happen.
