IronCage

One might say IronCage was a great contemporary dance show, full of energy and good vibes, marked by the creative spirits of both Spanish and Romanian dancers. We think it was much more than that. What started as a dream, turned out, in just a couple of months, to be a palpable reality.

One might say IronCage was a great contemporary dance performance, full of energy and good vibes, marked by the creative spirits of both Spanish and Romanian dancers. We think it was much more than that. What started as a dream, turned out, in just a couple of months, to be a palpable reality. IronCage was our first cross-country multicultural dance production, choreographed by Eva Sanchez Martz and translated into movement by the talented dancers Diana Chira, Idris Clate, Alina Radu, Cristian Hariga, Sara Colomino, Josep Maria Monreal, Rita Giannuzzi. The dance piece was inspired by Max Weber’s concept and developed around the ideas of freedom, autonomy and identity.
The bootcamp started in Sitges with two weeks of training and artistic creation at Institute of the Arts Barcelona. Then, we had the great opportunity to launch it with a full house at the institute and then bring it to the Romanian audience, at Cervantes Institute in Bucharest. IronCage was truly a unique encounter of two different dance cultures, with the intention to create an authentic product, capable to express the powerful chemistry between these artistic worlds.
