First phase of dans::danse ended on April 11th, with the open presentation of (work in progress) Protest, at Centre Choreographique National d’Orleans, in France. An experience created and performed by choregrapher Sandra Mavhima. A curious audience, lots of talks about the cultural, social and economical context of Romania, conversations on the content of the show were just a few of the moments we shared in Orleans. The most intense talks were related to the protests in both countries during the past years and the extremely different manner in which contemporary dance is understood in the two cultures.
dans::danse continues in Bucharest with DJ Battle and Protest, on June 21st and June 22nd respectively, at NTB (National Theater of Bucharest). More details will be shared soon.
